The Stream Life: Week 13
We have reached the point in the NFL season where the BYE week is a thing of the past. For most fantasy football leagues this is the final week of the regular season and if you’re in 12 leagues, like I am, you’re bound to have some “win and get in” match ups to make the playoffs. The Stream Life is excited about some of the match-ups this week and there are a few that we are willing to take a gamble on.
QB: Dak Prescott: Cowboys vs Saints
We have a solid Thursday Night Football game this week as the New Orleans Saints travel to Dallas to face the Cowboys. Thursday Night Football favors the home team on the short week, but both these teams played on Thanksgiving so that doesn’t work this week. The Stream Life likes Dak Prescott a lot this week. The Saints offense will probably score at least 27 points. This means the Cowboys will have to score around 4 TD’S if they want to win. If the Cowboys can keep utilizing Prescott similar to his style of play at Mississippi State than fantasy owners will be excited to see passing and rushing stats from their QB. Over his last 3 games, Prescott has 3 rushing TD’S. In the worst case scenario this game becomes a blow out and Prescott can score some garbage time points. Stream with confidence this week.
QB: Jeff Driskel: Bengals vs Broncos
Here’s The Stream Life sneaky play of the week. This will be weather permitting as it snowed in Cincinnati on Tuesday. While we don’t want to get too cute here, there can be nice value in starting Jeff Driskel of the Bengals. The Denver Broncos have given up over 400 passing yards in back-to-back weeks. It’s worth mentioning that those games were against Philip Rivers and Ben Roethlisberger. In the last 2 games Driskel has played in he has scored a rushing TD in each game. The Broncos defense has been giving up a ton of yards over their last few games. While The Stream Life doesn’t expect the Bengals to lose, we do expect them to compete. In daily leagues Driskel should be super cheap and worth a stream consideration in 2 QB leagues.
TE: Cameron Brate: Buccaneers vs Panthers
A great Stream Life candidate this week is Cameron Brate of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. After catching a touchdown last week, The Stream Life is setting those same expectations this week against the Carolina Panthers. The Panthers haven’t allowed a TD to an opposing TE in 2 straight games. That’s their longest streak of the season. That was against the Lions and Seahawks. Brate has more talent compared to the healthy TE’S on the Lions and Seahawks and plays in a pass happy offense. This is a rematch from week 9. In that game Tampa Bay TE’S went for 7 receptions, 68 yards and 2 TD’S. Stream Brate will confidence this week.
TE: Matt LaCosse: Broncos at Bengals
The Stream Life is rolling the dice with this option. Matt LaCosse of the Denver Broncos is worth a look in deeper leagues. For those interested, he’s a TE from University of Illinois. If you’re like us, you enjoy the Alumni game! Anyway, back to The Stream Life. With Jeff Heuerman going on IR, LaCosse had 3 receptions, 34 yards and a TD last week against the Steelers. LaCosse had 4 targets last week and with the Bengals defense being bad against TE’S and horrible in general this is a sneaky wildcard play this week. The Bengals have allowed 11 receptions and 2 TD’S to opposing TE’S over their last 2 games.
Team D/ST: Packers vs Cardinals
The Stream Life has done a good job avoiding captain obvious, but there’s 2 TEAM D/ST options this week that are too juicy to pass up. First off, the Green Bay Packers welcome the lowly Arizona Cardinals. Not only is this a great play based on statistics, but it also has a warmer weather team going into a cold temperature atmosphere. Sign us up for the Packers D/ST as the Cardinals have thrown 5 interceptions in their last 3 games. There’s no need to go into greater detail with this match-up.
Team D/ST: Seahawks vs 49ers
The Seattle Seahawks are one of the hottest teams in the NFL right now. On top of that, they are playing with so much confidence. That’s a dangerous combination for a visiting San Francisco 49ers team. Take away the Panthers game last week and the Seahawks have had 9 sacks in their last 3 games. They sacked Aaron Rodgers 5 times, Jared Goff twice, and Rivers twice. The 49ers have allowed at least 4 sacks in 6 games this season! The 49ers have also thrown 4 interceptions in their last 2 games. This is the perfect game for the Seahawks defense to turn this around and get back to the Seattle defense we got accustomed to seeing during their Super Bowl run.
Kicker: Cody Parkey: Bears at Giants
The Stream Life feels like a lot of these NFL head coaches this year. It’s so darn hard to trust a kicker! This week, The Stream Life will take its chances with Cody Parkey of the Chicago Bears. Since his 0-2 outing in week 10, Parkey is 4-4 in Field Goal attempts over the last 2 weeks. In 2 of the New York Giants last 3 games they have given up 3 FG attempts to opposing kickers. The Stream Life would be more than happy with 3 FG attempts and an extra point or two.
Kicker: Sebastian Janikowski: Seahawks vs 49ers
One of the hotter kickers over the last 2 weeks, Sebastian Janikowski has made 5 FG’S and 6 PAT’S during that span. In the 49ers last 2 games they have allowed 2 FG’S and 3 PAT’S in each game. The Stream Life expects double-digit fantasy points from Janikowski this week, which would extend his streak of 10+ points in 3 straight games.
As always, good luck to everyone in fantasy football unless you’re going against me this week! Twitter is @bferrer
