3 Players To Drop: Week 3

A high scoring week 2 has come to a close. Complete with kicker mishaps and yes, another tie!   Hopefully, you managed your squad to a win and are not in a 0-2 hole.

A few injuries have affected some teams and the waiver wire is ripe for the picking. As of Tuesday morning, it looks like all teams escaped impact players from season-ending injuries. (Phew!)

Here are 3 players gathering dust at the end of your bench who you can safely drop. Read Josh Trotta’s (@trotta23) weekly waiver article and get the knowledge you need heading into week 3!

1. Jordy Nelson WR, Oakland Raiders (70 % owned Yahoo)

The ol’ reliable target for Aaron Rodgers is not seeing that glory come to fruition with Derek Carr. Through 2 games with the silver and black, Nelson has seen 8 targets for 53 yards. His best days are behind him and you can drop this veteran WR.

2. Kelvin Benjamin WR, Buffalo Bills (44% owned Yahoo)

What a disaster Buffalo is. A playoff team just a year ago now in the trenches with the worst teams in the league. The Bills best weapon LeSean McCoy is now injured and with the Vikings next up on the schedule it’s about to get a whole lot worse in Buffalo. Large Benjamin did score a garbage time touchdown Sunday but those will be few and far between. Rookie QB Josh Allen has a cannon but with that pitiful offensive line blocking for him, he has almost no time to throw.

3. Cameron Brate TE, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (32 % owned Yahoo)

I couldn’t believe it when I saw his ownership was above 25 %. He has seen zero targets so far this season and has only been in games to block. 1st-year offensive coordinator Monken has this team firing on all cylinders and sees the high ceiling in the other TE, 2017 1st rounder OJ Howard.

And that does it for this weeks edition of 3 Players To Drop.  Good luck in Week 3. You can find me on Twitter @drod4htown and the rest of the gurus @tffgurus on twitter. You can also visit our website www.tffgurus.com for all your fantasy advice!
