The Stream Life: Week 15

I know the golden rule about fantasy football is to not talk about your fantasy football team. This platform allows me to break that rule and I’m in need of a vent session. After a last-minute switch from Josh Allen to Lamar Jackson, Joe Mixon to Sony Michel and letting my opponent pick up the New York Giants D/ST yours truly has been eliminated in 1 of the 4 leagues I really care about. Yes, I’m a George Kittle owner as well as Antonio Brown so that ends up balancing out a line-up, right? The Stream Life would love to hear about hopefully your success stories and if not, your blunders, just like mine. In the meantime, let’s get into this week’s Stream Life candidates.

QB: Nick Mullens: 49ers vs Seahawks
Full disclaimer that this week’s QB options aren’t too sexy. In a 2-QB league, The Stream Life is rolling the dice with Nick Mullens of the San Francisco 49ers. The Seattle Seahawks are on a short week, but more importantly, the last time these two teams played (2 weeks ago) Mullens threw for over 400 yards! To be fair, this game was a 43-16 blowout and Mullens had 48 pass attempts. While it’s unlikely to repeat all those attempts, there’s a chance this game gets out of hand again. Mullens has thrown 2 TD passes in two straight games.

QB: Lamar Jackson: Ravens vs Buccaneers
There’s a chance both QB’S play this week. Obviously, that’s not ideal but The Stream Life would favor Lamar Jackson over Joe Flacco and we’re glad the Baltimore Ravens agree. Regardless, this game could get ugly for the visiting Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The expectation for the Ravens QB’S this week is a combined 265 passing yards and 3 TD’S. Jackson is the leading rusher for the Ravens at 475 yards and hopefully after this game he’s around 550 yards. Since week 9, the Bucs have alternated games allowing 1 passing TD then 2 passing TD’S. Last week, Drew Brees only threw 1 passing TD.

TE: Vernon Davis: Redskins at Jaguars
This is a total shot in the dark play here. The Washington Redskins have become a complete dumpster fire with their injuries at QB. With TE Jordan Reed also injured, this allows for more reps for Vernon Davis. In a TE position where there’s only about 3 guys worthy of starting, The Stream Life will hope Vernon Davis can catch about 5 passes for 40 yards. The Jacksonville Jaguars have only allowed a TE to catch a TD in 4 games this year so don’t expect Davis to catch one this week. While you’re not required to watch this game, streaming Vernon Davis at least gives you a reason to.

TE: Cameron Brate: Buccaneers at Ravens
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE caught 2 passes for 2 TD’S last week. This week Cameron Brate gets to face a Baltimore Ravens defense that has allowed a TE to catch a TD in 4 straight games! Brate has at least 2 receptions in 4 straight games. We know that’s nothing to brag about, but there’s a high potential for double-digit fantasy points for Brate this week.

Team D/ST: Bills vs Lions
The Stream Life is continuously sticking with the Buffalo Bills. There are multiple reasons for it this week. For starters, Matthew Stafford threw for 101 yards last week against the Arizona Cardinals. This weeks game won’t be in such nice elements. The Buffalo Bills haven’t given up on their season. That’s important out of an effort standpoint. You don’t want to start anyone who isn’t putting in full effort when your season is on the line. The Detroit Lions have lost a fumble in 2 straight games. The Bills have an interception in 5 straight games! Stream the Bills will confidence in what should be a low scoring game.

Team D/ST: Jaguars vs Redskins
The Stream Life is taking a risk with this play. Above, we mentioned wanting to start players that still care about their season. Last Thursday showed the Jacksonville Jaguars defense clearly does not. Hopefully a home game against a 3rd or 4th string QB will change that. The Redskins have allowed at least 3 sacks in 6 straight games. They have also thrown 9 interceptions over their last 4 games. This is a must start and hope for the best as the Redskins have become fade material down the stretch.

Kicker: Aldrick Rosas: Giants vs Titans
The New York Giants kicker has now scored double-digit fantasy points in 4 straight weeks. The Tennessee Titans have only allowed 2 PAT’S over their last 2 games. That bodes well for opposing fantasy kickers and this week that’s Aldrick Rosas who has 8 FG attempts over his last 3 games.

Kicker: Randy Bullock: Bengals vs Raiders
This is a pure dart throw as The Stream Life could see this turning into a high scoring game as long as weather allows it. Randy Bullock was 3-3 with his FG attempts last week. The Oakland Raiders have allowed 2 FG attempts in each of their last 3 games. It’s a risk starting a Cincinnati Bengals player other than Joe Mixon, but the Raiders defense is a good play against.

As always, thanks for reading and good luck to everyone in fantasy this week unless you’re going against me. Twitter is @bferrer
