IDP Corner: Week 16
To start this off I would like to reiterate a sentiment from last week, which was, if you are still playing don’t get cute with your team now. The regular season is for trying out crazy off the wall ideas. To put it blunt, while I do think these players will go out and put up good to solid numbers this week, don’t go and bench a stud, on the other hand, if you’d been rocking Christian Jones for the previous two months and now you need to get a player who will see more than 17% of snaps this week, then have I got some ideas for you!
Anthony Lanier: Proving to be rather effective over the past two weeks, against another porous o-line this week if you need help in your DL IDP slots.
Adam Gotsis: Four tackles and two assisted tackles against the Colts’ matador style of offensive line, and going against an equally holey Washington line, Gotsis should continue to put a decent floor down for points.
Zach Vigil: Having got pushed to a full snap count with Zach Brown out, after already gaining increased playing time due to Mason Foster and Will Compton going out, Vigil has responded with two solid games and a couple of games where he was clearly getting the hang of things. Luckily the two solid games are the last two, where he’s seen the high snap counts. Brown is out again this week so Vigil should continue to produce some decent numbers.
Nick Kwiatkoski: Why the Bears of stopped Christian Jones from getting the majority of reps in at MLB side by side with Danny Trevathan is not something I have been able to track down, but the past two weeks Kwiatkoski has taken the lion’s share. Last week he looked a lot better and impactful, and the Browns should give up plenty of LB points this week.
Marcus Gilchrist: Having provided decent floor scoring for some decent stretches through the season, Gilchrist could perform well above his average against the pass happy Roethlisberger. Especially with Antonio Brown out, the slightly less dynamic WRs on the Steelers should provide some great tackle opportunities.
Daryl Worley and/or James Bradberry: These two have been on a two game beast mode roll after having some quiet weeks for most of this season, and while Jameis Winston just had himself a nice game, he does love to throw Interceptions in bunches. Bradberry is more likely to be owned in your league and has had more tackles on the season, Worley has had more in the past couple of weeks. At the least, Winston will be passing a bunch, so tackles should be coming their way, in a lucky situation both could end up with Interceptions on top of tackles.
