IDP Corner: Week 11

Some deeper looks for players that should be available in most leagues.

Linval Joseph – Simple and straightforward, Joseph has had a good 3 game stretch, and Arizona gives up the most points to Defensive Tackles, he’ll be a good matchup play.

Defensive Backs:

George Iloka – 25 tackles, 2 passes defended, 2 interceptions over the past 3 games, compared to 19 over the previous 6 games, Iloka has been rolling pretty well recently, along with fellow Cincinnati safety Shawn Williams. Given Buffalo’s propensity to run we can probably expect both of these guys to continue to see production.

Xavier Rhodes – Has cooled off a little from a mid-season peak, though he has still produced some ok numbers over the past 2 weeks. Where Arizona has so many different receiving options all of the DBs in Minnesota should see a chance at points, but Rhodes has a chance at expanding past his normal 5 tackles of late given he’ll likely be on the secondary receiver on a play and with the aforementioned Joseph doing work on the line passes may be hurried at times which means pass progression may not make it further than a second option.

Steven Nelson – With a backfield that has Eric Berry, Ron Parker, and Marcus Peters, it is Nelson that is 3rd on the KC squad in tackles (Berry is number 2 to be fair), and second on the team in passes defended (Peters is first). Even if Tampa switches to a run heavy approach this week Nelson should see work, though more limited than if passing is favored, but he should be a wise grab or the end of the season schedule that has plenty of teams that will pass.

Josh Bynes – With 9 tackles on the season (over the last 2 games too) Bynes is a risk, but he did produce 80 tackles last year and is currently ahead of DeAndre Levy on the depth chart and with Levy listed as doubtful coming out of Friday practices Bynes should be all systems go. He won’t be the lead tackler but he’s worth keeping an eye on, especially if Levy continues to struggle to come back.

Gerald Hodges Jr. – 24 total tackles, 2 passes defended, 2 interceptions, and a sack in the past 3 games, Hodges has turned it on considering the 5 previous games to that he totaled 21 tackles. Given how much New England likes to do a lot of everything on offense, I’d expect tackles to continue to rack up this week, I don’t think much will come from any other category though.

Good luck to everyone with the coming games this weekend, and as always if you have questions feel free to reach out via twitter to me @decoylife or the other gurus  @TFFGurus, @DaFantasyFather, and @TheFantasyBoys.
