IDP Corner: TNF Week 9

Looking at this game back in August, I may have yawned, at the prospect of the matchup. Man-o-man what a couple of months can do to make things more interesting. The Jets defense seems to be getting better week over week, and the Bills defense has been close to as expected, with a couple hiccups in the secondary. For both teams the offense has been the real surprise. For the Jets, it’s surprising how productive it has been, and for the Bills, it’s surprising how much the passing game has struggled (though not shockingly surprising). This week’s interest is truly intriguing due to both of these teams are on the move and should provide at least some surprises for us all tonight.

Week to week starters that are likely owned in your league: Micah Hyde, Demario Davis, Darron Lee

Defensive Linemen:
Muhammad Wilkerson: A well known name, that I expect most IDP managers have heard many times before. While he’s not putting up numbers like 2013 and 2015, Wilkerson has found a slight stride over the past two weeks, and he is really the only lineman worthy of noting going into this game. I wouldn’t necessarily expect him to be a long term replacement, but he’d be on the cusp of my radar for a bye week filler.

Ramon Humber or Matt Milano: Humber practiced in full on Wednesday, so signs point to him playing tonight, but if he doesn’t, the 5th round rookie, Milano has been dynamic over the past two weeks. Long term these two players share the same starting position, and it’s Humber’s spot that Milano has to justify playing in. Overall, Milano loses value after this week even if he does get the start.

Defensive Backs:
Marcus Maye: Depending on your league’s settings Maye has out or equally produced fellow rookie Jamal Adams over the past four weeks, and in my opinion is the DB to have on your team from the Jets right now.

Shareece Wright: He’ll be starting again with E.J. Gains out again. Wright has been nicely productive over the past three games, and even though the Jets have had a successful passing game of late, it does have its cracks and in addition to decent tackle totals, we could see him getting an interception tonight.
