DraftKings DFS tips for week 8

By Doug Eddy

Hello all and welcome to week 8 of the NFL! Are you already 1-6 or god forbid 0-7? Did you draft Dez, Jordy Nelson, Jamaal Charles, Arian Foster etc and are already at your wits end? Daily fantasy is for you! No worries about hurt players or a terrible draft here. Pick your team and keep it under $50,000 and enter it into weekly contests to earn real money! I will be writing this column weekly with my suggestions for DraftKings lineups and cash game strategies. I will cover three options at each position who I think will break out and not have a high ownership percentage which means you have a better chance to win!

Phillip Rivers @BAL. $6600

Two weeks in a row for Rivers on my list and with good reason. He is still relatively affordable, is throwing at a record pace and faces Baltimore’s pass defense who once again looked awful against the Cardinals. A Chargers stack of Rivers, Allen, Woodhead and Green looks nice this week if Gates can’t go again. I don’t expect the Chargers to try and establish a run game so pass, pass, pass it is!

Brian Hoyer VS. Tenn. $5300

Brian Hoyer is a classic stream type of play in standard fantasy and is a great bargain this week at home vs. the Titans. Losing Foster sucked. Hoyer should be in throw mode most of this game as it has a sneaky shooutout feel to it. Look for Hopkins to have a big game as well, the Titans secondary is severely banged up. I expect almost 309 yards and a couple of TD’s this week.

Teddy Bridgewater @CHI $5100

Teddy two gloves in the house! Teddy had a great game last week against Detroit and I expect more big things on the road in Chicago. At this point we all know the Bears secondary is a plus matchup and their run defense is actually pretty good. Teddy has the weapons around him to be successful and is building great rapport with Stefon Diggs. More on that later. Two TDs and 222 yards from Teddy two gloves!

Running Back:

Mark Ingram VS. NYG. $6400

Mark Ingram is a top five back in fantasy. A lot of people don’t realize that and he has sneaked under the radar. Ingram has an awesome matchup against the Giants at home. A nice price this week as well. I see Ingram piling up over 100 yards and at least two TDs. Hopefully Khiry Robinson doesn’t poach any again this week!

Todd Gurley VS. SF.  $6300

Two weeks in a row for Gurley on my list! He was criminally cheap last week at $5000 and now even at $6300 he is a no brainer play at home against the Niners. We are witnessing the beginning of an absolute beast and in redraft he will be a first round pick. Book it. For now in DFS take full advantage before he is the most expensive back to own. 150 yds and three TD’s feels right this week.

Jonathan Stewart VS. IND. $4100

Another under the radar special. Since the Panthers bye week Stewart has looked like a new man gaining over 100 yards two weeks in a row. I’m betting on Stewart to be the center of the game plan against Indy at home. Panthers are rolling and Stewart is dirt cheap. Reap the rewards and the winnings!

Wide Receiver:

Calvin Johnson @KC $7900

Megatron. Leader of the Deceptions. Iconic figure. He has been a bit of a decepticon this season as he has been very inconsistent. I’m thinking Jim Bob Cooter (lol) dials it up deep a few times and transforms the Lions offense into more of a down field passing attack. Tate and Ebron should all benefit from the change. On the road in KC is tough but talent prevails! All hail Megatron!!!

Eric Decker @Oak $5300

Yet another member of the no respect team in 2015. Decker had a nice day vs. New England with 9 grabs and 90 yards. Fitzmagic should be tossing it all over the field against the Raiders. Marshall and Decker should both have big days on the road. Always a good redzone target Decker pulls down a TD and 85 yards. Great value at $5300.

Stefon Diggs @CHI $4800

Can you Digg it, Suckaaaaa. Love me some Booker T! Diggs has now had three solid games in a row and is the clear favorite of Teddy B. remember all the Charles Johnson hype? Diggs snatched the mic and is rapping his way into a weekly WR2. Chicago is a great matchup and the targets should continue to flow Diggs way!

Tight End:

Martellus Bennett VS. Minn. $4800

Black Unicorn! With a bye week to heal up Bennett looks to rebound with a healthier Cutler. The targets have been there but we have yet to see a huge game from Martellus. I think he is a solid play this week and should score and rack up about 75yds.

Eric Ebron @KC  VS. $3100

Welcome back Eric! Ebron had a big day in his return vs. Minn. and continued his rise in year two. Clearly a Stafford favorite, Ebron has been a solid top ten every week he has played. I expect more of the same as Cooter (lol) will get the ball to his playmakers. Yee haw!!!

Ladarius Green @BAL.  $3000

Antonio Gates is still hurt and I’m not projecting him to play this week. He may miss a few more weeks from what I hear. Get an MRI already! Take advantage of Greens value again this week. Like I said earlier Rivers is throwing at a record pace and Green has been a go to. Start Green, make green. Nuff said.

Defense/Special Teams:

Seattle @DAL. $3700

Matt Cassel, Darren McFadden. Dez won’t save them this week if he is a go.

Green Bay @DEN. $3300

Manning looks like a 50 year old man throwing the pigskin. Packers will dial up the pressure and force three turnovers on the road. Hillman may be their only saving grace on offense this week.

Rams VS. SF $3200

How about that thirty points from the Rams last week! I don’t expect that many especially as its a division game and they tend to be a bit closer but sacks should be plentiful and you can probably throw in a pick or two as well.

Good luck this week and I will see you next Thursday! If you ever have DFS or any fantasy questions hit us up @TFFGurus and myself @dafantasyfather
