DraftKings DFS Tips for Week 4
By Doug Eddy
Hello all and welcome to week 4 of the NFL! Are you already 1-2 or 0-3? Did you draft Dez, Jordy Nelson, Big Ben etc and are already at your wits end? Daily fantasy is for you! No worries about hurt players or a terrible draft here. Pick your team and keep it under $50,000 and enter it into weekly contests to earn real money! I will be writing this column weekly with my suggestions for DraftKings lineups and cash game strategies. I will cover three options at each position who I think will break out and not have a high ownership percentage which means you have a better chance to win!
Cam Newton vs. TB: $7000
Cam has flourished so far with very little help offensively. He has played three subpar defenses and the trend continues this week against the lowly Buccaneers. Buy Cam now and ride the hot streak.
Andy Dalton vs. KC: $5900
The king of September has returned! Dalton has been playing like it’s 2013. The Bengals have been airing it out and there is no reason to switch the strategy this week as they face a KC secondary that got torched by GB on Monday night. Saving money on your QB is a great strategy in DFS. Load up on other positions especially the safer WR spots.
Tyrod Taylor vs. NYG: $5800
I’m a billiever! Crunching some numbers through three weeks and Tyrod Taylor is in the top five in most of the QB metrics. Can he keep it up? I’m not sure he can play like this all season but against the Giants in Ralph Wilson,Taylor will be circling the wagons for sixty minutes.
Latavius Murray vs. CHI: $6300
Latavius had a big game last week against the Browns and I feel like he is still under the radar in fantasy. He’s running hard and catching a fair share of passes as well which is gold in DraftKings because of the PPR scoring. Look for Latavius to rush for 100 and score twice against the Bears who seem to be packing it in for 2015 already.
Carlos Hyde vs. GB: $5100
Everyone thinks this game is going to be a laugher. I do not. GB on a short week, on the road is a recipe for trouble. Their run defense is shaky and I think the Niners pound Hyde to control the clock and keep Rodgers off the field. Look for thirty touches from Hyde, decent yardage and a score. Not bad for the price this week.
Karlos Williams vs. NYG: $3400
The only RB to score every week this season looks to get the start because of Lesean McCoys hamstring issues. This has the feel of one of those games where the rookie gets a shot, blows up and the veteran has to take a back seat for a while. I’m OK with that and even though his ownership may be high this week the value is too good to pass up!
Amari Cooper vs. CHI: $6300
It’s all about targets and Cooper is getting plenty this season. Red Zone looks will come this week and Cooper has the potential to be the number one WR overall in week 4. He’s that special.
Steve Smith Sr. Vs. Pitt: $6200
Steve Smith loves him some primetime games so when you combine that with Pittsburghs awful secondary that means big numbers. The Ravens are a mess on offense and Smith has back to back double digit catch games and appears to be the only good option. Make it three in a row for Mr. Smith.
Marvin Jones vs. KC: $3800
Great bargain bin play. His targets have gone up every week and he has TDs in back to back games. Like I said earlier KC pass defense is absolutely atrocious and you can’t stop AJ Green and Jones at the same time.
Greg Olsen vs. TB: $5400
Gronk is on bye this week and I have Olsen as my number one TE in week 4. Great chemistry with Cam and he is the go to. He will not disappoint. Easy money.
Martellus Bennett vs. OAK: $4500
Oak is the worst in the league at covering the TE and even with Jimmy Clausen at the helm the black unicorn will rise into the end zone. Oak made Gary Barnridge look good last week, who? Lol.
Maxx Williams vs. PITT: $2500
Another great value play this week with Crockett Gilmore out. Williams was targeted seven times by Flacco last week while only playing two quarters. This tells me he is in for a big night in Pitts.
Seattle vs. DET: $3700
Primetime game and the Lions offense stinks to the high heavens right now. Legion of Boom is a no brainer especially coming off of a shutout vs. Chicago last week.
Raiders vs. CHI: $2600
Chicago got shutout last week and while the Raiders aren’t the Seahawks I think they won’t be widely owned which means you make out!
Packers vs. 49ers: $2700
If you believe it will be a blowout then go with GB on the road. Not my favorite play this week but the price is nice at least if your looking to save some money and invest elsewhere.
