Draftkings DFS tips for week 14

By Doug Eddy

Week 14 is upon us and if you’ve missed the playoffs in your league the good news is you can play some daily games and try to recoup some of those lost entry fees! Draftkings has a a special $3 Millionaire Maker contest this week so it’s a great time to enter multiple lineups to increase your chances to win.

Pick your team and keep it under $50,000 and enter it into weekly contests to earn real money! I will be writing this column weekly with my suggestions for DraftKings lineups and cash game strategies. I will cover three options at each position who I think will break out and not have a high owner percentage which means you have a better chance to win!

Ryan Fitzpatrick vs. Tenn. $5400

Fitzmagic is putting together a nice little run here with the Jets. Another multiple TD game in the books and now he gets the Titans secondary at home. Last week his ownership was in the single digits and while that may rise a little bit this week he is still  a great play at $5400. Add in some rushing yardage and he may get close to thirty points this week. I’d use the Fitzpatrick, Marshall and Decker stack again this week if you can, it should pay off!

Ryan Tannehill Vs. NYG $5200

I’ve found that if you really want to make money in DFS you have to be willing to start guys off down weeks. Tannehill is a perfect example. Awful last week versus a great matchup in Baltimore so not many people will start him this week. The Giants pass defense played yet another down game versus the Jets and I think with another week of practice under the new OC and playing at home can remedy some of the issues the Dolphins are having. I like alot of players from this game as it has that shootout feel. Two mediocre teams with talent on offense that can’t play defense reminds me of last week’s Jaguars/Titans game. A sneaky stack play of Tannehill, Miller and Landry could pay huge dividends in a week where all three won’t be highly owned.

Blaine Gabbert @Cle. $5100

Yo Gabba Gabbert! What a revelation he has been for San Fransisco this year. He looks nothing like the player we saw struggle in Jacksonville. A great matchup here albeit on the road. I expect 250 yards through the air and another 30-40 on the ground and two scores for Blaine. At $5100 that’s a great return on value!

Running Back:

Lamar Miller vs. NYG $5700

This year has been the curious case of Lamar Miller. No touches for the first quarter of the season, then the new coach focuses on the run game and he blows up. A few weeks later its back to single digit rushes and then a new OC comes in and gives him twenty carries and he goes off for over 100 yards vs. Baltimore. Such a Jekyll and Hyde year. I’m a believer in Millers talents and its proven that if he gets the ball more than 15 times a game the Dolphins are successful. I see back to back 20 carry games and some nice activity out of the backfield this week versus the Giants. His ceiling is very high this week.

Shaun Draughn @CLE. $4800

Draughn has another solid matchup on the road in Cleveland this week and should see about 90% of the backfield touches. I’m all about players targets and touches and Draughn checks both of those boxes. At $4800 this week he’s a no brainer and I still don’t think many people are on to him yet in DFS so he should have low teens in ownership percentage.

Eddie Lacy vs. DAL. $4700

Did this guy really just recommend Eddie Lacy? Yup, I did! After watching the last few Packer games its clear to me that the offense runs the smoothest with Lacy back there. Last week he “lost track of time” and was pretty much benched for the game the Packers needed a miracle hail mary to win. This is a perfect spot to play Lacy in. He may be under 2% owned and before the benching was running like last year’s Eddie Lacy. I think the Packers go back to Eddie as the feature back in a nice matchup versus the Cowboys. This one could blow up in my face but it feels just like it did back in week eleven when he got rolling again and he does his best work down the stretch every year.

Wide Receiver:

Jarvis Landry Vs. NYG $6300

Another great bounce back candidate after an awful week of two receptions for five yards. That killed me in the millionaire maker BTW. Landry has another juicy matchup this week and like Tannehill I expect him to bounce back in a big way. The Giants don’t cover the slot well and Landry is one of the best in the biz. Typically when talented players throw a hissy fit they tend to get fed the ball the next game so look for Landry to have a bit of a mean streak this week and get back to double digit receptions.

Doug Baldwin @BAL. $4500

This one is fairly obvious this week and Baldwins ownership may be rather high due to his price but I feel you have to ride the hot hand at least one more week. Baldwin is the number twelve  receiver in standard leagues. What a run he and Wilson have been on. Expect a healthy yardage day and at least a score versus the Ravens. I really like a Wilson, Baldwin,Rawls and Seattle D stack this week as it gives you plenty of money left over to afford some studs.

Anquan Boldin @CLE. $4000

Gabberts favorite target over the last three weeks has been Anquan Boldin and he has averaged over ten targets a game in that time. A sneaky play this week as Boldin isn’t a sexy name or coming off a big game but as a WR3 or flex play there is alot of appeal at $4000. I expect double digit targets again with some healthy yardage. A score would be a massive bonus!

Tight End:

Ben Watson @TB $4400

I’m projecting Brees to have a better game than most at Tampa this weekend and I think Watson is one of the beneficiary’s.  He should find some work in the middle of the field especially with Tampa losing Kwon Alexander for the year. Lavonte David is a stud yes but I think Watson sneaks a score and fifty yards this week and thats all you need at his price.

Will Tye @MIA. $2800

Will Tye is your classic unsexy play. He has been rock solid the last few weeks since Larry Donnell was put on IR. He has averaged over sixty yards receiving over the past three and has a knack for getting open for big plays down the middle. As you can tell I’m all in on this game this week to provide some big scoring on both sides.

Zach Miller Vs. WAS. $2700

Martellus Bennett was put on IR this week with broken ribs so its the Zach Miller show in Chicago. This game as of right now is predicted to be a windy one so that’s a perfect setup for Miller on short routes vs. a Skins team that if they are without Keenan Robinson again this week will struggle covering the TE.

Defense/Special Teams:

Detroit @STL. $2700

Case Keenum is back at the helm for the Rams and the Lions are going to be playing angry after last Thursday’s loss. Time to tee off!

NYJ. Vs. Tenn. $3200

Darelle Revis returns this week and Mariota comes back down to earth after his amazing performance versus the Jaguars. If the Titans score twice I’d be surprised.

Packers Vs. Cowboys $3200

The Cowboys struggled to move the ball versus the Redskins last week and I see that trend continuing at Green Bay. They should be able to turn the Cowboys over twice and record four to five sacks.

Quick hits:

Here are some other options I also like this week at their price and expected ownership:

Alex Smith $5100, Thomas Rawls $5800, Charles Sims $3400, Davante Parker $4000, Brian Hartline $3700.

Good luck this week and I will see you next Thursday! If you ever have DFS or any fantasy questions hit us up @TFFGurus and myself @dafantasyfather
