Doug’s Draftkings Player Picks Week Six

Welcome back to Doug’s (Josh’s) Draftkings Player Picks for Week Six!! Man, that is a mouth full!! What up everyone my name is Josh and I will be filling in for the one and only Sir Doug E Fresh this week. If you read Doug’s Draftkings article last week or listened to this week’s Trophy Time Podcast you already knew he was living it up in Las Vegas with his wife (my sister) and they are having a great vacation! So while he is walking the strip with a cider in hand, gambling to help pay for his sports collector addiction, I am here to help you set the perfect lineup and win some MONEY!! With KC, NE, NYG, PHI, GB, and SF all slated outside of the Millionaire challenge some of the biggest stars in fantasy football are not available. Don’t you worry though, there are still plenty of matchups we can exploit and values to be had in the 1 o’clock & 4 o’clock slate of games. Before we move onto my week 6 picks, take a look at who was a Touchdown, First Down, or a Punt from Doug’s Draftkings article last week.

As a way to hold myself accountable to myself and you, the reader, I will provide a weekly recap of the previous weeks player picks. I find that accountability is important in this industry as too many writers, podcasters and “experts” throw things at a wall and see if they stick and are quick to tout their “wins” but never talk about the “losses” or “misses”. Both you and I know nobody is perfect at predicting what is going to happen week to week but I think some reflection is due when you whiff on a player or team pick for the week. I will break these down into three categories: Touchdowns are players that finished in the top 10 at their respective position or produced 3-5X their value. First Downs are players that didn’t hurt you in your lineup and had average results based on cost. Punts are the players that I completely whiffed on and did not help you in any way, shape or form. They happen, it’s part of the game. If I did a bad job picking them I’m going to own up to it!

Touchdowns: T.J. Yeldon, Arizona

First Downs: Matt Ryan, Derek Carr, Christian McCaffrey, Chris Carson, Stefon Diggs, Buffalo

Punts: Josh Rosen, Aaron Jones, Golden Tate, Dede Westbrook, Taywan Taylor, Vance McDonald, Austin Sefarian-Jenkins, Hayden Hurst, Denver

Quarterback:

Matt Ryan: $6,800 vs Tampa Bay (Home)

Prior to last week, Ryan had 3 straight 30+ fantasy performances, throwing 10 TDs and for over 300 yards & 400 yards during that span. With Tampa coming in giving up the most passing yards & points in the NFL this choice is as easy as saying yes to another scope of ice cream. G Ryan throwing for 350 yards & 3 TDs almost feels too low.

Jameis Winston: $5,800 vs. Atlanta (Road)

Jameis at Atlanta is a slam dunk play this week! Atlanta is giving up 32.0 ppg which is 31st in the league. The only team who gives up more pts per game is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (34.8 ppg). This game has shootout written all over it and 50 pass attempts aren’t out of the question for Winston in his first start of the season. This game is on the radar of any educated DFS player so fading Winston could be to your advantage as he projects to be one of the most rostered QBs this week.

Case Keenum: $5,500 vs. L.A. Rams (Home)

Keenum is coming off a season-high in passing yards (377) Sunday vs the Jets and this week he heads home to face a Rams defense that has given up back to back 31 point games. Keenum has an offensive cast closer to what Kirk Cousins has in Minnesota vs what Wilson has in Seattle and I expect the Broncos to lean on Keenum’s arm if they have any shot of upsetting the Rams

Bonus:

Sam Darnold: $5,300 vs. Indianapolis (Home)

Is Darnold good? I just can’t tell. He’s beaten the Lions & Broncos and looked awful vs Cleveland & Jacksonville (I give him a pass on this one). Last week GOOD Donald showed back up but he wasn’t able to break 200 passing yards. No defense can cure that quite like Indy. Every QB to face the Colts this season has thrown for over 200 yards and over their past two weeks they have given up 716 yards & 5 touchdowns. At home, Darnold should break the 200 yard sound barrier and throw at least 2 touchdowns.

Running Back:

Dalvin Cook: $5,700 vs. Arizona (Home)

Cook looks to be on track to play and get the start this week in a GREEN light oh sorry TOUCHDOWN matchup vs the Cardinals. Arizona right now as I sit here and write this is giving up 142.4 Rushing Yds/G which ranks them 31st in the NFL. If any team needs to get their running game going it’s the Vikings who have relied heavily on their passing attack through the first 5 weeks of the season. If Cook is a full go, no snap count, then he is a must start at a bargain.

Marshawn Lynch: $5,300 vs. Seattle (Home)

!!!!!WARNING Revenge Game WARNING!!!! I can’t wait for Beast Mode to get the handoff at the 1-yard line, score, and then just stare Pete Caroll into an early retirement. I’m just here so I can rub it in my ex-coaches face. Lynch bounces WAY back with 150 total yards and 2 touchdowns Sunday.

Bilal Powell: $4,500 vs. Indianapolis (Home)

This as well as one other player that we will get to in a minute could win you a million doll hairs this week! As of Thursday Crowell has not been able to practice due to an ankle injury he suffered Sunday and it’s starting to look as though he is going to be doubtful for Sunday’s juicy matchup vs the Dolphins. With a MASSIVE volume boost, Powell should tear apart the Colts both through the air and on the ground. Insert James White tape now. In full point, PPR Powell has a hamburglars chance of being an RB1 if all things bounce the right way.

Wide Receiver:

Julio Jones: $7,900 vs. Tampa Bay (Home)

O Julio, My Julio! THIS IS THE WEEK folks. If Julio can’t score a touchdown vs the worst statistical defense in all of football then there is no hope for Julio. He is lost and we must stop looking for him. Tampa Bay is giving up the most passing yards (358) and points (34.8) and Atlanta is right there with them. This feels like the monster game week that Julio has once every year. Click the add button on Julio, pour yourself a hot cider & rum, and enjoy the aerial show the Falcons and Buccaneers are going to put on.

Amari Cooper: $5,200 vs. Seattle (Home)

If and it’s a BIG IF Cooper hits he along with Powell could be Moneymakers for you!! At $5.2K Cooper is a bargain with WR1 potential. That’s what is so maddening about Cooper is he has the talent profile to be elite but he’s too inconsistent to trust. Every other week or even week Cooper is what people are calling him. On odd weeks cooper average’s 2.8 fantasy pts. On even numbered weeks, Cooper is averaging 26.2 fantasy pts. Week 6 is an even numbered week and Seattle did just get torched for 476 total yards. In Lynch’s revenge game the Raiders offense comes alive!

Chris Godwin: $4,400 vs. Atlanta (Road)

Stack city with Winston. If you want to go with Evans stack or play both Evans & Godwin with Jameis go for it! This is the slamdunk high scoring game of the week and you want as many pieces in it as possible. Godwin starts a new Touchdown streak in this one and has more yardage then Evans. At 4,400 Godwin presents unbelievable value as he has a great chance as finishing as a top 15 WR this week.

Tight End:

Austin Hooper: $3,500 vs Tampa Bay (Home)

Just start all your Falcons! Hooper led the team in targets last week (12) and all you need to be a TE 1 is 30-yards and a touchdown. Even Hooper can do that this week.

David Njoku: $3,800 vs L.A. Chargers (Home)

I get it, the Chargers have played the TE position as good as any team in the NFL this year. The Chargers are currently giving up the 8th fewest fantasy points to tight ends so I get that this is not a good matchup for Njoku but hear me out on this one. First, Njoku has become a major volume play since Baker started seeing 18 tgts over his 2 starts which is 2nd to only Landry (22). On top of that, the Browns will be without Rashard Higgins which means Landry & Njoku could be asked to be EVEN more involved this week. And lastly, Kittle exploited this same Chargers defense to the tune of 6/125/1 with C.J. Bethard as his QB. I think the Chief finds the end zone this week and the Browns win.

Vance McDonald: $3,700 vs. Cincinnati (Road)

Don’t run away from McDonald just yet. He still led all TEs in snaps in week 5 (37) & with a big divisional game on deck, the Steelers will lean back on the best tight end on the team. Look for McDonald to bounce back with 50+ yards and a touchdown in Cincinnati

Defense:

Texans: $3,500 vs. Buffalo (Home)

Buffalo isn’t an automatic Green Light matchup but outside of the Vikings game, Buffalo has been a good team to stream against. The Texans defense looked legit Sunday Night and should have no trouble dismantling Buffalo.

Bears: $3,300 vs. Miami (Road)

The Bears have 18 sacks, 11 TOs, and 2 TDs this year. Last week Miami gave up 3 sacks and 3 TOs. Chicago should dominate this game from start to finish. Even on the road, they should be a top 5 defense this week.

Browns: $2,700 vs. L.A. Chargers (Home)

This one is a total hail mary and similar to Njoku going on a hunch. The Browns defense is a lot better then people are giving them credit for and at home, they have had two double-digit performances. Holding Baltimore to 9 pts and turning them over twice was an impressive performance last week. LAC has to travel west to east for a 1 pm game, you combine that with how well the Browns are playing at home and it could equal a lot of defensive points.

That wraps up Doug’s Draftkings player picks for week six! If you have any questions please shoot us an email at trophytime@tffgurus.com or feel free to send us a tweet @dafantasyfather  or @TFFGurus. Good luck and let’s win some money!!!
