3 Players To Drop: Week 8
Week 7 is a wrap. We enter further into the 2nd half of the fantasy football regular season it will not get easier from here. With trade deadlines looming in most leagues, now is the time to make those moves to propel you into the playoffs. With Week 8 on deck, bye week hell continues with another 4 teams on bye. San Diego, Dallas, Atlanta and Tennessee all off leaving many must-start fantasy options on your bench. Here are 3 players on your squads to drop now to fill those spots! Make sure you read Top Guru Josh Trotta’s (@trotta23) (@tffgurus) weekly waiver article and get the knowledge on who to pick up as we head into week 8!
1. Marshawn Lynch RB, Oakland Raiders. (64% owned Yahoo!)
The Oakland Raiders are a dumpster fire. Re-build mode is in full effect with Las Vegas on the horizon. Beast mode was put on Injured Reserve with a groin/core muscle injury. Although a Week 16 return is possible, it seems very likely Marshawn has played his last downs with his hometown team. The 32 year old Lynch is not under contract for 2019. His Oakland cleats could soon be joining the Seattle ones on the power lines above Compton.
2. Albert Wilson WR, Miami Dolphins. (33% owned Yahoo!)
The fast and shifty wide receiver has been very productive in the Adam Gase offense. His explosive plays have been a welcomed sight in Miami. Wilson suffered a hip injury in the week 7 clash with the Lions. His agent publicly stating “the best case scenario is a few weeks if not the rest of the season”. Albert Wilson is seeing a hip specialist for a second opinion as of Tuesday afternoon. Hip injuries are very worrisome and could land the wide receiver on injured reserve to make room on the roster as the Dolphins fight for a playoff spot. Albert Wilson can be dropped in all leagues.
3. Antonio Callaway WR, Cleveland Browns. (29% owned Yahoo!)
The talented rookie has been struggling lately with Baker Mayfield at QB. Running the wrong routes and dropping very easy balls. Since his week 2 touchdown game, he has three of fewer catches in each game. Not for lack off targets either, Mayfield has been peppering him with the football (7 targets week 6) but he has no production to show for it. In the shootout against a weak Tampa defense week 7, Antonio saw 2 targets. needs to be a lot more reliable to be fantasy relevant week to week. Now with head coach Hue Jackson wanting to call the plays, I hope this doesn’t also make Baker Mayfield regress.
