3 Players To Drop
Whoa! Week 3 was a wild one! Many teams showing promise; Titans, Bills, Lions, and the BROWNS all having big wins to change their seasons around. Meanwhile, some teams still having mediocre starts causing fan bases to panic. Week 3 usually is unpredictable because, with only 2 games to go off of, most owners over-react. Stay the course! Week 4 brings us the start of bye weeks with the Carolina Panthers and Washington Redskins first up. So with Cam Newton, CMC, Alex Smith, and AP out of your lineups, you’ll need to be active on the waiver wire! Make sure you read Top Guru Josh Trotta’s (@trotta23) (@tffgurus) weekly waiver article and get the knowledge you need heading into week 4!
Season Ending injury drop in all leagues
- Jimmy Garoppolo QB 49ers: Torn ACL
1. Robbie Anderson WR New York Jets (55% owned Yahoo!)
The 3rd year wide receiver is being noticed for all the wrong reasons. Arrested in the off-season (still under NFL review), dropping catch-able balls and now fumbling the arrow is certainly pointing down. Rookie Sam Darnold and all jets had a great week 1 performance but have settled back down. Quincy Enunwa has become the favorite target of Darnold and Anderson cannot be trusted in starting lineups. Robbie Anderson has always been a touchdown-dependent receiver and with Jacksonville, Denver, and Minnesota coming up. Those touchdowns might be scarce.
2. Pierre Garçon WR San Francisco 49er’s ( 69% owned Yahoo!)
San Fran had sleeper pick written all over them at the start of the season, that all changed Sunday with the knee injury to Jimmy G. Pierre Garçon, the 11-year veteran had his season cut short last season and looked like he was not on the same page with Jimmy to start this year. Now with CJ Beathard up next for the 49ers and that division full of stud cornerbacks and crushing defensive linemen, drop Garçon now and move on. It might start to get real ugly in San Fran.
3. Rex Burkhead RB New England Patriots ( 83 % owned Yahoo!)
“Never draft high ADP New England running backs” the rule holds true once again. Before the season started, Patriot beat reporters were praising Rex calling him the #1 but the tight-lipped organization always uses RBBC and the often injured Burkhead just sustained a neck injury vs the Lions Sunday Night. In week 2 Rex only saw 15 total snaps. Week 3 the Patriots tried to get first round pick Sony Michel going against the lions, a healthy Burkhead saw no carries and was thrown to twice before exiting. With James White handling most of the 3rd down duties it’s time to drop Rex Burkhead.
