IDP Corner: Week 17

Oooo seventeen, where the real champions come to play. If you listen to the podcast this past week you’ll find I fall on the 17 side of the week 16/17 championship debate. Albeit only for redraft leagues, keeper and dynasty leagues are a little bit different depending on settings, bench depth, and other randomness. So, congratulations if you are in the championship game this week. Keep an eye out for your studs that will be sitting, and take a look at these players as options for this week:

Defensive Linemen:
Grady Jarrett: Coming off of a decent week against division rivals the Saints, Jarrett will see another rival with the Panthers, which will certainly be a matchup upgrade as the Saints give up some of the fewest points to DLs while the Panthers are more middle of the league. In the previous matchup earlier this season Jarrett was the high DL producer with 4 tackles and 2 assisted tackles. The Falcons will need Jarrett to disrupt running plays to continue their playoff presence.

Linebackers:
Carl Lawson: After seeing a significant snap boost when Jordan Evans went out last week with a concussion, Evans is likely back this week after already getting a full practice in. However, it does look like Vontaze Burfict will be inactive, so look for Lawson to see an even bigger boost over last week.

Defensive Backs:
Harlan Miller: Arizona likes to use 3 Safety sets in their defense, with Antoine Bethea now on IR, Miller is now the 3rd Safety in ARZ so… yeah Seattle will be playing hard in hopes that Atlanta loses and they can sneak in. Miller is horribly unproven this season, notching a total stat line of one Fumble Recovery this season, that said, this is exactly what he did last year where in the final game of the season he put up a line of 4 tackles, an assisted tackle, one pass defended, and an interception. So, there is hope this year he could do the same.
