IDP Corner: TNF Week 13
Both of these teams are riding the Thursday to Thursday bus this week, and even better it’s a long term rivalry game. While the fireworks between the two were relatively calm earlier this season, Josh Norman and Dez Bryant have proven immature enough in the past to never let things stay calm for too long. Given their most recent joint trash talking was just last season, and how Dez has struggled this year and Norman has been playing well, there is definitely a chance for tensions, especially if Dallas gets behind and Dez continues to struggle. Or that all could all be resolved given their Samsung commercials. I guess we’ll see if butter sticks or snail wins.
Likely already owned in your league: Zach Brown, Anthony Hitchens, Byron Jones, Demarcus Lawrence, Sean Lee (injured), Jaylon Smith, D.J. Swearinger, and Ryan Kerrigan.
Stacy McGee or Anthony Lanier: While last week the Chargers had a much more formidable front line than Washington is presenting this week, the important thing to remember is that the Cowboys offense is struggling mightily. Given that the defensive backs for Washington are better than those for LAC, I expect that potentially both McGee or Lanier or both should have a decent game, McGee’s had the better season if you want to follow that stat to decide the coin flip. That said, Lanier saw more snaps last week.
Zach Vigil: Only playing two weeks this season so far, he already jumped up to a 71% snap count with Martrell Spaight out last week. Even if Spaight plays, I think players like Preston Smith, Junior Galette, and Ryan Anderson are likely to lose playing time, to keep Vigil on the field.
Chidobe Awuzie: It could be argued that Jourdan Lewis will reap the benefits of the Cowboys sitting Anthony Brown, but Lewis has been playing between 58% and 89% of snaps for games he has played in. The other thing to take into account is that Awuzie was a 2nd round pick in this year’s draft while Lewis was taken exactly one full round later… not a four round difference but a difference none-the-less. No matter what the Cowboys defense should provide plenty of IDP value options going into the fantasy playoffs, as they will continue to see plenty of snaps.
