IDP Corner: TNF Week 7

Well the Giants this pass Sunday proved that on any given Sunday any team has a chance to win. I think the Raiders have a chance to prove the same principle tonight against Kansas City. It might not happen, but I think that the world is just random enough to spice up things this week.

Players who will be starters in most leagues: Karl Joseph, Khalil Mack, Justin Houston, Terrance Mitchell.

Defensive Linemen:
While there are worthwhile players on each team, I don’t particularly think anyone besides the high ownership rate Mack will be worth the risk/reward for this specific matchup. Maybe Mario Edwards Jr. if you truly feel like a gamble.

Linebackers:
Navorro Bowman: The 49ers were set to part ways with Bowman over the summer, but held onto him til last week. No longer a linebacker who is an every down style player, he can still defend against the run and provide tutelage to younger players. With a run heavy team like Kansas City in town it should give him plenty of chances to gather some tackles. It’s likely that most people who had Bowman might have held onto him, but in case someone did drop him, he would be a decent bye week play this week.

Defensive Backs:
Travis Carrie: On pace for a career year, Carrie has been one of the biggest benefactors of Gareon Conley not being able to play the past three weeks. Conley is out again this week, so Carrie should be able to still produce at his 5 solo tackles per game, as David Amerson and Sean Smith have continue to only produce minimal IDP numbers this season.

Daniel Sorensen: While free safety Ron Parker has stepped up nicely since Eric Berry went down in week one, but Sorensen is who has filled in at strong safety for Kansas City. His 4 solo tackles per game should be something he can sustain against what will need to be a pass happy Oakland team if they wish to remain in this game against a relatively high scoring KC offense.
