IDP Corner: TNF Week 16

Long story short, outside of guys who are not auto start players on these teams, I am having a hard time suggesting anyone. Landon Collins, Oliver Vernon, Jordan Hicks, Nigel Bradham, and Leodis McKelvin are likely starting if you have them. So, here are some players that could end up doing something sneaky… maybe.

Defensive Backs:

Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie – Do not expect the huge week that he had last week, but DRC is a relatively streaky player over his career and I think we can expect some continued production this week due to Philadelphia’s enjoyment of the passing game, and Janoris Jenkins being a game-time decision on a Thursday game (resulting in an “if he does play, it will be limited situation”).

Nolan Carroll – The other 3 starting DBs for PHI are great and all, and they will be spending plenty of time covering OBJ most of the game while Carroll gets Sterling Shepard or Victor Cruz. It’s also noteworthy that Carroll had a Pass Defended, Interception, and 3 total tackles earlier in the season vs the NYG so he can do some work.

Linemen:

Connor Barwin – This is a dartboard shot of a pick this week. While the Giants’ O-line is not horrible, the main reason Eli hasn’t been sacked much is due to his release time. Which doesn’t bode well any of the PHI linemen, that said Barwin lines up across from Ereck Flowers who has the most limited stopping power on that Giants D-line. Being the opposite side DE from Fletcher Cox also helps, as well as lining up on Eli’s blind side, so if he does scramble or Flowers does blow a block, Barwin can benefit. This is a very high-risk high-reward pick, so if you have strong DL players I’d stick with them over grabbing Barwin this week, but if you are looking for a cheeky play, this can be it.

Linebackers:

Devon Kennard – This understudy has been getting a good handful of snaps of late and with Jonathan Casillas questionable right now, Kennard has the biggest potential gain.

Good luck to everyone on your Thursday endeavors, and as always if you have questions feel free to reach out via twitter to me @decoylife or the other gurus @TFFGurus, @DaFantasyFather, and @TheFantasyBoys.
