IDP Corner: Week 13

On the cusp of the playoffs and with injuries and changes running rampant, let us take a look at some highly available, interesting options in IDP this week.

Linemen:

Malik Jackson – Having just put up his best game of the season last week against Buffalo, Jackson should be poised for another good game against a Denver O-Line that gives up plenty of points to DTs. In addition to that, Trevor Siemian is out this week, so we should see plenty of run plays, so if Jackson can keep riding the high from last week, we should see some good points out of him this week too.

Defensive Backs:

Major Wright – It looks like Chris Conte will be on the sidelines this Sunday, and the Bucs just signed Wright to a one year deal, look for the weak secondary to get plenty of work, with Wright having the most to gain. Though Bradley McDougald has been playing great and should be able to step up in Conte’s absence as well.

Artie Burns – 18 tackles, 5 passes defended, and 2 interceptions in the past 4 weeks should put Burns on your radar. There are plenty of good defenders on the Pittsburgh defense but it is likely Burns has been passed over.

Linebackers:

Nick Kwiatkoski – The middle linebackers for Chicago have been vacated, between suspension and injury, a good deal of opportunity has opened up for some surprise points. Kwiatkoski along with Willie Young, John Timu, and Pernell McPhee are the starting four LBs for the Bears right now, with Young being the only consistent starter out of the four this season, but both he and McPhee are the outside backers, so look for Kwiatkoski and Timu to have the most chance at points. Both Timu and Kwiatkoski should see plenty of action as teams should be smart enough to target them as a weakness in the Bears defense, Kwiatkoski has seen the most action between the two this season which makes me think he has the better chance to really step up. Timu based off of his usage this season would be a huge surprise to come out scoring a good deal of points.

Ramik Wilson – Is on a 5+ tackle pace every other week of late, and this week is a scheduled on week, in addition most of these weeks have been against teams that shade a bit more towards passing, which Atlanta happens to fall into. Not that Wilson tends to get many pass defense stats, just happens to be the trend on tackles for him, this is likely due to Derek Johnson, Justin Huston, and Dee Ford crashing the line and Wilson hanging back to cover over the middle passes.
