IDP Corner: TNF Week 9

It’s a Thursday night football miracle: a divisional matchup WITH fantasy relevant teams! Heck the NFL might even see some ratings this week. Also, this is it, we’re past the halfway point of the regular season of the NFL, and we are getting into the last 3rd of the fantasy season, time to start to make some moves for this year or the next.

Two pass heavy offenses with “ok at best” defensive schemes, we should see some fun numbers on both sides of the ball.

Defensive Backs:

Robert Alford – Very consistent play from week to week this season, while rookie Keanu Neal has been racking up the tackles, Alford is only 12 assisted tackles behind, but with 8 more passes defended, 2 more interceptions, and a touchdown.

Bradley McDougald – He’s second on the team in total tackles and passes defended over the past 4 games, he’s second in scoring (on TB) in most leagues right behind Kwon Alexander.

Ricardo Allen – An Alford light, there are other DBs that have been productive this season: Desmond Trufant and Kemal Ishmael, but Allen has been more productive over the past quarter of the season.

Jude Adjei-Barimah – Has had 2 great weeks coming off of Tampa’s bye week. He would be a player to take a grab at from TB if you need help on a bye replacement. Brent Grimes (leads the team in passes defended, both on the season and over the past 4 weeks) and Vernon Hargreaves III (has grabbed a bunch of tackles lately) are both worth looking at in deeper leagues too.

Linemen:

Adrian Clayborn – 6 tackles and 3 sacks in the past two weeks, he should be a guy to target in the midsts of the bye week blues.

William Gholston – Has notable tackle totals of late for a lineman.

Linebackers:

Vic Beasley Jr. – 6.5 sacks and 3 forced fumbles over the past 4 weeks have given Beasley relevance. He’s not

Lavonte David –  He’s had some ups and downs over the season, his career performance would be why you would pick him up currently as he’s been outside of the top of commonly relevant LBs so far this season.

Enjoy your TNF!
