Yet another super star goes down with a season ending injury. Arian Foster who tore his achilles Sunday is done for the year and that means all Foster owners are in need of running back. If your a Foster owner, someone who is trying to get back in the winners or just looking to add depth to your roster for a playoff run, the waiver wire is all that matters. We hope you listened to us last week and were able to get your hands on a few of our waiver wire suggestions. They might have been the difference between a win and a loss last week. Week 8 is almost here so lets dive deep into the waiver wire help get you a W! This week the Buffalo, Philadelphia, Washington and Jacksonville are all on bye’s.

We will rank three players at each position in order of who we think you should try and grab first. Look at the position you need the most help in and best of luck getting your player!

Quarterbacks

  1. Ryan Fitzpatrick – If you didn’t listen to us last week, listen to us this week and go pick up Fitzpatrick! He has been rock solid all year long and has Oakland up next. Fitzy isn’t going to wow you but he is almost guaranteed to get you 20 points week in and week out.
  2. Derek Carr –  Carr was en fuego last week posting a beautiful 23 spot in traditional scoring leagues with almost 300 yards passing and 3 touchdowns. Carr would have had an even bigger game if they didn’t take the 4th quarter off. Carr faces a tough Jets secondary Sunday but maybe the young Oakland offense can give gang green a run for there money at home.
  3. Teddy Bridgewater – I was all in on Teddy when draft day rolled around. In almost every league I picked him as my back up but sadly was disappointed in his lack of production and dropped him. Now if I needed a back up he would be on my radar if options 1 & 2 were gone. With the emergence of Diggs, Bridgewater has turned in bonafide fantasy option. Posting a big 3 TD game and over 300 yards passing just last week. Week 8 the Bears are in town and Bridgewater could be in for another big game.

Running Backs

  1. Darren McFadden – By far the number 1 waiver wire option of the week! McFadden was a beast on Sunday rushing for 152 yards and a touchdown in what some are saying was the best he has ever looked. Jerry Jones has already come out and declared him the starter going into at least this week. Seattle is on deck and that is scary I get it but if he has the job the rest of the way, McFadden could be your ticket to the postseason (God that is scary to say).
  2. Alfred Blue – With Foster going down for the season the RB duties fall back on Blue’s shoulders. The clear #2 waiver wire pick up of the week, Blue will be given every opportunity to handle all running back duties and make a name for himself. Blue looked to be getting better and posted his best game of the season back in week 3, right before Foster came back. If he can get back to that form, he could be a season saving mid season pick up. All Foster owners need to have a waiver claim in for Blue and McFadden.
  3. Ryan Mathews – Mathews looked like the better of the two backs Sunday night in Carolina. He ran hard and down hill with every touch and it looks like Chip Kelly’s offense suits his running style more then Murray’s. Mathews is still behind DeMarco on the depth chart but with more performance’s like the one we saw on Sunday night, it’s only a matter of time that Mathews is seeing the rock even more. Could be a great stash for a playoff run.

Wide Receivers

  1. Danny Amendola – Ok I told you last week to get this guy, SO GO GET HIM NOW!!! Amendola is becoming more and more involved in this offense each week. With teams gearing up to stop Edelman, Gronk & Lewis, Amendola is seeing team’s 4th or 5th best CB and is destroying them. Back to back 8 catch games and almost 100 yards in each, make me a believer. The Amendola movement is for real.
  2. Nate Washington – Washington has a monster game on Sunday but most of his points came in garbage time when Miami was just waiting for the game to be over. Should you care yes, will you take garbage time fantasy points? HELL YA!! Let’s face it, the Texans are awful and are playing for nothing and with Foster down they are going to have throw the ball more then before. Expect for Washington to see more targets, which should lead to quality fantasy production down the stretch.
  3. Ted Ginn Jr. – Man is he FAST! Every time he touches the ball he looks like he can go the distance. Carolina must be thinking the same thing because once again Ginn lead the Panthers wideouts in targets Sunday night. Ginn isn’t finding the endzone regularly but if does then he could be a top 10 fantasy wideout week in and week out. Could be a nice bye week fill in or matchup flyer down the road.

Tight Ends

  1. Eric Ebron – Another player I told you to pick up last week and did you? Hopefully you did, because Ebron had a solid day with 89 yards and a touchdown against the vikings. Bennett owner’s the Vikings are up next, be happy! Back and healthy Ebron came out and started right were he had left off as someone Stafford trusts. Look for Ebron to continue to get the targets and become the playmaker the Lions thought he could be when they drafted him so high.
  2. Jordan Reed – He was simply unguardable down the stretch of that game Sunday against the Bucs. Reed looks like Cousins go to receiver right now and some think that even with the return of Jackson things might not change. Reed is always an injury risk but when healthy he can be a game changer. If your not in desperate need of TE help then Reed could be a good stash play for the playoffs.
  3. Richard Rodgers – Coming off the bye the Packers travel to Denver to take on the undefeated Broncos on Sunday Night. Look for the Broncos to try and take away the wideouts and leave Rodgers with a linebacker in the redzone. I think Rodgers is a good fantasy TE that this week gets in the endzone. The schedule is ok down the stretch but if you can live with 5 to 8 points games from your tight end Rodgers could be your guy.

Defenses

  1. Minnesota – I know Ebron lit them up but they where all over the field Sunday causing 7 SACKS!!! In to town comes Chicago who has been playing better of late and are coming off a bye but the Vikings have been much better as well. Look for them to continue to put pressure on the quarterback and for Cutler to throw a couple int’s.
  2. Tennessee – The Titans have actually been a decent defensive team this year but their offense has put them in some bad situations that they could not get out of. If Tennessee can get Ryan to turn it over 2 times, then they can defiantly get Hoyer to do it as well.
  3. Houston – Playing Tennessee who is giving up the most points to defenses in fantasy football. I know Houston has been awful, I get it but with a banged up Mariota they have a real shot at getting 20 points this week.

Kickers

  1. Nick Folk – Over the last 3 games Nick Folk is averaging almost 10 points a game. That is great from your kicker and something every fantasy owner will take. The Jets have been a much better offense with Fitzpatrick at QB then people thought they would be and it’s giving Folk plenty of opportunity to convert FG’s. Look for his streak of 10 points to continue this week against Oakland.
  2. Josh Lambo – Just another person I told you to get last week. Lambo is still not owned in enough leagues and with Baltimore coming into town this week, he is a must start! Baltimore is giving up the most points to kickers in all of fantasy and the Chargers are the number 1 passing offense in the league. I see a lot of FG tries in my crystal ball.
  3. Graham Gano – Carolina is undefeated and back in the spotlight on Monday night this week. The Panthers play host to the Colts this week and if Sunday night’s game is any indication then Gano should have another solid game. The Colts are on the brink of collapsing and Gano might just be the guy to kick the last nail in the coffin.

Good luck this week and I will see you next Tuesday! If you ever have any fantasy questions hit us up @TFFGurus or our friends at @dafantasyfather & @TheFantasyBoys.
